Testing of a new Energa’s wind farm has just begun
Commissioning of the Przykona Wind Farm owned by Energa has commenced in accordance with the agreed schedule. In the upcoming weeks, all nine wind turbines will be subject to testing. Completion of the construction and acquisition of utilization permit are planned for the second quarter of 2020.
Commissioning is one of the final stages of the Przykona Wind Farm project. The goal of this stage is to run trials and tests required for the final acceptance of the farm. As part of the process, individual turbines and generation facilities will be activated and simultaneously, parameters and settings of various devices will be verified. Also, it will be checked whether security mechanisms work properly.
The facility features one of the largest and most modern turbines in Poland, Vestas V-126 turbines whose rated power is 3.45 MW. They are installed on 117-meter high poles. This means that when a 63-meter long rotor is tilted to an extreme degree, the total height of the turbine amounts to 180 m.
The Przykona Wind Farm has 31.05 GWh of installed capacity. It is estimated that it will generate approx. 83 GWh of electricity per annum. 9 wind turbines with necessary associated infrastructure have been placed on the 300 hectares of a rehabilitated former lignite mining site.
