The Energa Group posted good results for the first quarter of the year

Q1 2018 results of the Energa Group are better than a year ago. The Group's EBITDA increased to PLN 626 million from PLN 601 million in the prior year according to financial and operating estimates. The EBITDA of the key Distribution Business Line remained at a high level. A higher EBITDA was reported by the Sales Line and the Generation Line maintained the prior year's level.

The estimated EBITDA of Distribution, the largest Business Line, amounted to PLN 509 million in the period from January to March 2018, whereas it amounted to PLN 530 million in the corresponding prior year's period.

The estimated EBITDA of the Generation Business Line was comparable with that for the corresponding prior year's period and it amounted to PLN 103 million.

The estimated EBITDA of the Sales Business Line increased significantly, to PLN 53 million, compared with the negative EBITDA of PLN 10 million a year ago.

The Group also reported increased electricity generation, distribution and sales volumes year on year.

"The good results for the first quarter are a good foundation for achieving the results budgeted for the year and completing the scheduled investments.  We are happy about the Distribution results, all the more so given the comprehensive investment programme in that area, which will lay strong foundations for EBITDA growth in the coming years. I draw attention to the fact that it was through Energa's skilful capitalization on a more favourable external environment that the company managed to post good results in its Generation and Sales Business Lines," comments Jacek Kościelniak, VP Finance, Energa. 

"The coming months and quarters will be a time of continued implementation of the Ostrołęka C project and the Distribution projects for Energa, but also projects in the area of renewables, electromobility, and search for innovative solutions to expand our product range for more than three million of our customers," announces Jacek Kościelniak.
