Energa gets the Producer of the Year 2016 award
Once again Energa returns with an award from the Grand Gala “Leaders in the World of Energy and Production” held as part of the XXV Energy Conference EuroPOWER. This year, the distinction in the Leaders in the World of Energy was awarded to the Gdańsk Group in the Producer of the Year category. During the grand gala in Warsaw, the statue was collected by Jacek Kościelniak, Energa SA’s Vice-President for Financial Matters.
The main goal of the competition organized for many years is to honor people with extensive knowledge and experience who contribute to development of the energy market in Poland, popularize the most interesting products and best practices in business, and promote environmental protection and Polish technical expertise in energy.
The Producer of the Year category is addressed to producers of energy from different sources, both conventional and non-conventional. It awards, among others, key investments, successfull restructurings or important innovations in companies generating energy. Three companies were nominated in this category for 2016: TAMEH Polska, EDF Polska and ENERGA Group, which won the contest. This is not the first distinction for the Gdańsk Group in this competition; its awards include already: Seller of the Year 2015, Man of the Year 2014, Distributor of the Year 2013 and Corporate Social Responsibility 2010.
- This award confirms that we are the leader in the energy market in the key segments. Appreciation for our initiatives is obliging and mobilizes us to further efforts – says Jacek Kościelniak, Energa SA Vice-President for Financial Matters, who collected the Producer of the Year 2016 statue on behalf of the company.
In the Leaders in the World of Energy contest, awards were also granted in 5 other categories: Seller of the Year, Producer of the Year, Provider of Solutions for the Sector, Innovation of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Man of the Year. In the last category the award was collected in person by the Energy Minister, Krzysztof Tchórzewski. He was apprecipated, among other things, for building a strong ministry, guaranteeing Poland’s energy security, and efficient and consistent reform of hard coal mining.
The Grand Gala is attended by key representatives of the power and production industry, science, and market regulator, as well as representatives of central government administration. This year, between individual categories, the guests had the pleasure of listening to Małgorzata Ostrowska, and the evening was once again hosted by Marcin Prokop.
The EuroPOWER Energy Conference is one of the most important events in the power sector in Poland. From its onset it has been a response to the needs and challenges put forward before the Polish energy market. The jubilee 25th edition of the conference focused on the most important changes happening in the industry thanks to which it will be easier to meet the challenges faced by the Polish power sector.
