Energa included in the Respect Index for the third time in a row

Energa has once again been selected to the prestigious group of highly liquid stock exchange-listed companies managed in accordance with highest standards of sustainable development. Following a 3-stage verification, including an independent audit, Energa has been recognized as an attractive company for investors who appreciate high-quality reporting and corporate environmental responsibility. Energa has been selected to the Respect Index each year since its IPO in 2013.

The Respect Index has been announced for the 10th time. The initiative, run by the Warsaw Stock Exchange and its external partners, aims to bring attention to companies managed in a responsible and sustainable manner but also highlights their attractiveness to investors. To be selected to the index, a company must consistently ensure, among other advantages, a high quality of reporting and investor relations. Other criteria taken into account in compiling the index include income from dividends and subscription rights and the liquidity of the company’s stock. This approach means that the Respect Index, much like other stock-exchange indices, is a high-quality benchmark for professional investors.

“We thank the authors of the index for this recognition, but above all we thank them for promoting the values that we consider extremely important in our business. We strongly believe in the mission pursued by companies aiming to affect their environment as much as they depend on it. The needs of our environment are encoded in Energa’s DNA and we are proud of our transparency in addressing them,” said Mariola Anna Zmudzińska, Energa SA’s Vice-President for Investor Relations, collecting a certificate confirming Energa’s participation in the Respect Index during the award ceremony in Warsaw.

The composition of the index is updated every year. This year Energa improved its score in the environmental area, mainly due to its newly introduced EMAS-compliant environmental management system.
The Company also improved its score in the management area, in particular in risk management where particularly noteworthy achievements included the Company’s actions aimed at reducing the risk of fraud. Also of great significance for this recognition was the fact that all Group companies are now covered by corporate social responsibility reports.

Every year, the Energa Group informs its stakeholders about all activities associated with corporate social responsibility in reports presenting non-financial data. Such reports are verified by an independent auditor. You can download Energa’s latest CSR report entitled “Our Responsibility 2015” here: http://grupa.energa.pl/Raporty_CSR.xml.
