It is important to stress that the Warsaw Stock Exchange performed strongly last year, and the companies shortlisted for the award delivered two- or even threefold returns for investors and boasted significant growth. In 2017, Energa’s shareholders enjoyed a 38 per cent rise in share prices, and just a few days ago the company published its financial statements for 2017, boasting excellent results. The Group’s EBITDA increased to PLN 2.160 billion, revenues increased by PLN 353 million, and the net profit reached PLN 789 million, i.e. PLN 642 million more than in 2016. Such results could only be achieved thanks to Mr. Daniel Obajtek, President of the Management Board, who decided to rationalize the organizational structure of Energa Group and initiated activities aimed at optimizing the operations of the entire organization. The efforts were recognized by Parkiet’s experts who emphasized that Energa’s good financial results, stable situation and dividend payment resulted in the highest returns in the energy sector in 2017.

“Such award of recognition as Parkiet’s Bull and Bear statuette for the best WIG20 index company confirms that our efforts in 2017 - the efforts of the entire Management Board of Energa SA - have brought tangible results. I am happy to see that their positive impact on both the financial results of Energa Group and the stability and growth of our entire organization didn’t go unnoticed. I would also like to thank our shareholders for their trust. As pointed out by the President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, such awards as the ones presented today are going to grow in importance because they show people who is the best. Today, Energa is the best,” said Mr. Jacek Kościelniak, Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance, Energa SA.
